HAND-CRAFTED ESTONIAN GIN BRINGS HOME INTERNATIONAL TITLE
TALLINN, 26.07.2016, www.liviko.ee - The Estonian-made Crafter’s London Dry Gin was recognised amongst the best gins in the world with a gold medal at the Sip Awards international alcohol awards held in California, USA.
The awards assessed are based only on drinker’s evaluations, drinks were blind-tasted by almost one hundred unbiased judges, none of whom were associated with any alcohol producer.
Crafter’s London Dry Gin was rewarded with a gold medal, beating out the competition of 29 quality gins from nine different countries. In addition, Crafter’s London Dry Gin was awarded a silver medal for the design of its bottle at the same competition, where 25 of the most beautiful alcoholic drinks bottles were presented to a jury for their critical evaluation. We salute Crafter’s recognition with these awards, which now reside in the Crafter’s trophy
cabinet next to the awards for Best Alcoholic Drink in Estonia 2016 and the Golden Egg for best packaging design.
Crafter’s London Dry Gin, which is inspired by Estonia’s natural environment, is the fl agship of Estonian gins. This is a handcrafted gin with a unique fl avour combination, made from local grain and packaged in an Estonian-designed bottle. Many years of commitment were required to achieve the dream of the Crafter’s gin distillers to create an elegant, clear and dry gin, and this dream was finally achieved with recipe no. 23.
The result is a balanced taste bouquet where Estonian grain and veronica gathered from the pure Estonian countryside play important roles. The carefully chosen herbs are distilled using the traditional pot still method in an authentic copper vat from the previous century. Only an experienced distiller is able to bring out the best fl avour from the herbs in order to ensure a full fl avour bouquet in every batch. A maximum of 140 litres of disillate is brewed at a time to ensure that the gin is always of the highest quality.
“This is a terrifi c feeling, as our years of dedicated work are now appreciated at home as well as internationally. This is yet more proof that Liviko master distillers and Estonian designers
are among the best in the world,” said Liviko CEO Janek Kalvi.
